David Alan Carmichael is taking a lead in the fight to be free from embracing an SSN while pursuing the ordinary course of life, business and religion.  David took a stand while a career Chief Petty Officer in the Navy and was discharged for requesting religious accommodation with respect to the SSN. After an eight-year court battle, he was vindicated in federal court in David Alan Carmichael v. United States.

David works for the liberty of others through the American Christian Liberty Society. He provides Biblical counseling, performs legal research, and develops litigation strategies.

In 1997, David founded Educational Christian Ministries to provide free job skill training in impoverished communities. Numerous “faith-based” 501(c)(3)-status organizations in those communities stood by, idly waiting for government grants that never came, while David met the needs by faith, without 501(c) status. In 2004, David published Faith-The Final Frontier; a true-life faith thriller about his tests, temptations, trials, tragedies, and ultimate triumphs.

Under the banner of Freedom Ministries, David broadcasts his Faith & Freedom radio show on WPMH 670 AM talk radio in the Hampton Roads metropolitan area in South-Eastern Virginia.  He discusses the issues of the day from a constitutional, biblical and moral basis. He believes “Our freedom will come in proportion to our faith.”
